Plan-IQ
System Features: Plan-IQ
optimizes layouts of rectangular parts on rectangular panels, minimizing
overall waste. The system can optimize over multiple panels in multiple
sizes, giving you the best overall set of layouts. Besides for panels,
one of the two Plan-IQ optimizers can be used to place parts on a
long roll, minimizing total length used.
The
optimizer comes in two versions: one for any type of cut, one for
only edge-to-edge (guillotine) cuts. The any-type-of-cut optimizer
is typically used for CNC routers, the edge-to-edge optimizer for
panel saws. Both optimizers are state-of-the-art, and are also in
use in many other systems for the woodworking.industry
There
are three options available for licensing:
-
ATOC: any-type-of-cut optimizer . Better optimization for routers
than edge-to-edge. Very suitable for layout optimization, for example
in printing.
-
GC: edge-to-edge cutting optimizer (GC = ‘Guillotine Cuts’)
-
UCGC: edge-to-edge optimizer with user control over the complexity
of layouts and cuts. This version allow you to accept a somewhat
lower yield if this leads to less work, which may be of interest
for cutting low-cost material.
Each
of the optimizers in the Plan-IQ system can be licensed separately
as well, ready for
developers
to be built into their systems.
